Mother Loretta Hogan Whitsett and the Southwest Michigan AGAPE Jurisdiction invite you to attend the 2013 Women's Convention, September 25-27, 2013. The theme is “A Call For Wailing Women To Pursue His Righteousness and Fulfill Their Mission”.

Come and experience a mighty word on Wednesday evening, September 25th.  The speaker will be our own Jurisdictional prelate, Bishop Isaac king, Jr.  On Wednesday morning, Assistant Supervisor Josephine Beverly will speak.

On Thursday evening, September 26th, the guest speaker will be Supervisor Clararetha Spencer of the Turks and Caicos Islands.  On Thursday morning, Evangelist Barbara Jones will speak.

Friday, September 27th is Official Day as  we hear from our Convention President, Supervisor Loretta Hogan Whitsett. 

All services will be held at Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, 30101 Parkwood St. in Inkster, MI.  Mother Deborah Walton, serves as the Convention Coordinator.

Tasha Page Lockhart wins “Sunday Best”

Detroit's own Tasha Page Lockhart has captured the hearts with her soul stirring voice and has represented her city well on Season 6 on the BET's Gospel TV Show, Sunday Best. The 27 year old worship leader, song writer and producer made great strides to make her way to the top and became this year's Sunday Best winner. Tasha Lockhart, the wife of the Clifton Lockhart and the mother of two has shared the stage with many such and Vickie Winans, Donnie McClurkin and even her own mother Lisa Page- Brooks. With her anointed voice, Tasha Lockhart managed to grace the stage, week after week leaving a great impression on the world. As a result of her passion and expression for her love for music, Tasha Page Lockhart will be our special musical guest at this year's Michigan Chronicle's Praise Connect Salute to First Ladies event that will take place September 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center. New Mt. Moriah Seeks New Leader

New Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Highland Park, MI established in 1952, is seeking a spirit filled candidate, called of God, to fill the position of full-time Pastor and to serve as the spiritual leader of its congregation.

New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church is in need of a pastor who will be responsible to God and the church, will proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, teach the Bible, provide Christian leadership in all areas of the church, and engage in pastoral care of the congregation. Also, the pastor is to be responsible for the overall leadership of the day-to-day operations of the church, services, membership and promoting the spiritual interest and growth of the church.

The Minimum Qualifications for the new pastoral position is listed below:
• Bachelor's Degree consisting of a strong concentration in Theology/Biblical Studies
• Must be ordained
• Five (5) years of Pastoral experience

Hope Academy graduation

Bishop Andrew Merritt, a prolific, iconic pastor of the Straight Gate Church in Detroit, founded Hope Academy Charter School in 1998. Hope Academy, formerly known as Winterhater Elementary School, has become one of the most talked about public charter school in the city of Detroit with grades K-3 through K-8.

But this year it will have high school levels beginning in the fall of this year. Hope Academy received a multimillion dollar grant for the renovation of their new educational facility located at Broadstreet and Elmhurst.

On June 3, Hope Academy celebrated the graduation of its first 8th grade class to graduate from their new facility. Bishop Merritt stated that it feels good to know that Hope Academy is providing an education for some of Detroit's brightest and best.
